AntiScalants

Vitec® antiscalants  and dispersants are multicomponent formulations that allow higher RO system recovery rates and reduce cleaning frequency. The Vitec antiscalants inhibit scale while also dispersing colloidal particles. The inhibition and dispersant properties of Vitec products help extend system run times, reduce cleaning frequency and increases the productive life of RO elements. The Vitec 8000 series antiscalants, the Green Chemicals line,  has been specially formulated for sites with discharge restrictions.
MUNICIPAL OR POTABLE DRINKING WATER
Vitec® 1000 is a liquid antiscalant used when the potential for colloidal and silt fouling of membranes is low. This formulation is compatible with all RO membranes and is certified for use in systems producing drinking water.
Vitec® 1100 is a cost effective, liquid antiscalant designed to specifically inhibit calcium carbonate, metal oxides, silica, and mineral scale in municipal feedwaters where there is potential for concentrations of inorganic fouling.
Vitec® 1200 is a liquid antiscalant designed with enhanced scale control to inhibit iron metal oxides, silica, and mineral scale in large capacity membrane systems.
​Vitec® 1400 is a liquid antiscalant designed to inhibit calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, metal oxides, silica, barium and strontium scale in municipal feedwaters where there is potential for high concentrations of inorganic fouling, or high hardness ground waters.
WIDE SPECTRUM INHIBITORS
Vitec® 3000 is a powerful, broad spectrum, liquid antiscalant and dispersant that is compatible with organic coagulants. It is highly effective at low dose rates and in a wide range of feedwaters and is certified for use in systems producing drinking water.
Vitec® 5100 is a broad spectrum, liquid antiscalant and dispersant that is compatible with organic coagulants, effective at low dose rates and approved for use in systems producing drinking water. It is particularly cost-effective in seawater and municipal applications.
INHIBITORS WITH SPECIAL FEATURES
Vitec® 1500 is a liquid antiscalant designed to inhibit or reduce calcium fluoride, calcium sulfate, calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, barium sulfate, and strontium sulfate scale.
Vitec® 2000 is a liquid antiscalant and dispersant used in feedwaters that have a wide range of scaling challenges or where there is a high level of iron to be dispersed.
Vitec® 4000 is a liquid antiscalant and dispersant that offers excellent silica scale inhibition and allows increased system recoveries in high silica feedwaters. It is certified for use in systems producing drinking water.
Vitec® 7000 is a multicomponent liquid antiscalant and dispersant that provides a high level of sulfate inhibition and allows increased RO system recoveries in challenging waters.
Vitec® 7400 is a liquid antiscalant and dispersant that offers excellent silica scale inhibition and allows increased system recoveries in high silica feedwaters.
NON-PHOSPHORUS
Vitec® 1000 is a liquid antiscalant used when the potential for colloidal and silt fouling of membranes is low. This formulation is compatible with all RO membranes and is certified for use in systems producing drinking water.
Vitec® 8200 liquid antiscalant and dispersant is free of phosphate and phosphonate. This all-polymer blend is compatible with all membrane types and is NSF certified for use in systems producing drinking water.
COAGULANT POLYMER COMPATIBLE

Cleaners

AvistaClean® and RoClean® formulations are proprietary, membrane compatible cleaners that provide efficient and cost-effective removal of all common foulants. AvistaClean and RoClean products come in a variety of pH ranges and include liquids or powders. Many are certified for use in potable water systems. They’re powerful against organic and inorganic foulants and compatible with all membranes. Several cleaners are classified as Green Chemicals to help Avista customers meet strict environmental discharge limits. The cleaners in our Green Chemicals line are the highest performing green cleaners in the industry.
CLEANERS POWDER PRODUCTS
AvistaClean® P312 powder is a multicomponent, high pH buffered cleaner formulated to remove a combination of organic and particulate foulants from membranes.
RoClean P111 powder is a multicomponent, high pH buffered cleaner formulated to remove biological fouling in the presence of hydrophobic and hydrophilic organics and particles, such as clay, from membranes.
RoClean P112 powder is a multicomponent, high pH buffered cleaner specifically formulated to safely remove silica scale from membranes.
RoClean P303 powder is a multicomponent, low pH buffered cleaner formulated to remove metal foulants and calcium carbonate from membranes.
RoClean® P611 powder is a multicomponent, high pH buffered cleaner that is free of phosphate and EDTA.
RoClean P703 powder is a multicomponent, low pH buffered cleaner formulated to remove metal foulants such as iron, manganese and aluminum from membranes.
RoClean P903 is a low pH powdered cleaner designed to remove iron, manganese, and aluminum deposits from spiral wound polyamide and cellulose acetate elements.
RoClean P911 powder is a multicomponent, high pH buffered cleaner formulated to remove particularly high levels of organics, including humic and fulvic acids.
CLEANERS LIQUID PRODUCTS
AvistaClean® L011 liquid is a multicomponent, high pH buffered cleaner formulated to remove oils and grease from membranes.
RoClean L211 liquid is a multicomponent, high pH buffered, low-foaming cleaner formulated to remove colloidal silica, clays, organic color and bacterial slime from membranes.
RoClean L212 liquid is a multicomponent, high pH buffered cleaner formulated to remove clay and metal oxides from membranes.
RoClean L403 liquid is a multicomponent, low pH cleaner formulated to remove metal foulants and calcium carbonate scale from membranes.
RoClean L607 liquid is a multicomponent cleaner formulated to remove organics and colloidal particles from membranes. The product is specifically designed as a pH neutral cleaner for cellulose acetate materials.
RoClean L811 liquid is a multicomponent, high pH buffered cleaner formulated to remove sulfate scales including barium, strontium and calcium sulfate from membranes.

Biocides

RoCide® is a non-oxidizing, membrane compatible biocide to reduce biological fouling in membrane systems. RoCide biocides are broad spectrum formulations that combat contaminants such as bacteria, fungi and algae. They are compatible with all membranes and can be used with various Avista cleaners. These biocides may be applied intermittently, via continuous injection or as a periodic addition to your clean-in-place (CIP) system. RoCide® is a line of non-oxidizing, membrane compatible biocides used to reduce biological fouling in non-potable membrane systems.
BIOCIDES
RoCide® DB5 is a fast-acting, non-oxidizing liquid biocide that degrades naturally and rapidly, making it a cost-effective method of eliminating contamination in compliance with strict discharge regulations.
RoCide® DB20 is a concentrated, fast-acting, non-oxidizing liquid biocide that provides instant antimicrobial activity. This product degrades rapidly and naturally, making it a cost-effective method of eliminating contamination in compliance with strict discharge regulations.
RoCide® IS2 liquid is a broadspectrum, non-oxidizing biocide intended for continuous injection and specifically formulated for RO feedwaters. It is also highly effective as a preservative and can be used alone or in conjunction with RoCide® DB20.

Chlorine scavengers

​AntiChlor formulations remove free and combined chlorine from RO system feedwaters to protect membranes from oxidation damage. Membranes can last for days or years depending on the care they receive and impacts the total operational cost. Chlorine in feedwater can permanently damage membranes, requiring them to be replaced. AntiChlor liquid is an extremely economical option for chlorine removal compared to other methods. It’s offered in two formulations with both certified for use in systems producing potable water. To make membrane care even simpler, the Avista Advisor software calculates dose and consumption rates of AntiChlor products for your convenience.
CHLORINE SCAVENGERS
AntiChlor® 30 is a liquid dechlorinating agent used as a mild, non-oxidizing biostat or injected into RO feedwaters to protect polyamide membranes from permanent damage caused by chlorine.
AntiChlor® 427 is a modified, liquid sodium bisulfite formulation used to remove free and combined chlorine from RO feedwaters. This unique chemical is odorless and stabilized to prevent off-gassing, making it ideal for indoor installations.

MF/UF Cleaners

The AvistaClean® MF line is formulated to remove common foulants and can replace or enhance generic cleaners. Membranes in microfiltration/ultrafiltration (MMF) systems require more frequent cleaning than those in reverse osmosis (RO) systems. To mitigate cleaning costs, generic chemicals are commonly used. However when generic cleaners no longer restore membrane performance, their impact on operational cost efficiency is lost. The AvistaClean® MF products was developed as a line of more effective cleaners which are specifically designed to restore MMF membrane performance.
MF/UF Cleaners
AvistaClean® MF 1000 powder is a proprietary, one-step cleaner used to remove foulants from MF and UF membrane surfaces and pores.
AvistaClean® MF 1000A powder is a synergistic cleaner blend formulated to remove organic and particulate foulants from chlorine tolerant MF and UF membrane surfaces and pores.
AvistaClean® MF 3000 powder is a low pH, proprietary cleaner that removes calcium carbonate and metal foulants from MF and UF membrane surfaces and pores.

Coagulants

Colloids and silt fouling are major causes of performance loss in membrane systems, which is why many system designs include upstream MMF to target particle removal. RoQuest® membrane compatible coagulants improve the efficiency of MMF equipment by increasing particulate removal and providing a higher quality feedwater to downstream membrane systems. In addition to MMF products, Avista can also offer lab services, analytical tools, field services and chemical application recommendations to keep MMF equipment in top form.

COAGULANTS
RoQuest® 3000 liquid coagulant contains a proprietary blend of organic polymers to significantly improve multimedia filter efficiency.
RoQuest® 4000 liquid coagulant is an organic polymer and ferric sulfate blend used to enhance the removal of a broad spectrum of silt, organics and colloids in multimedia filters.
RoQuest® 6000 is a liquid blend of organic coagulants and ferric sulfate used to reduce turbidity and remove humic and fulvic acids in multimedia filters.
RoQuest® FS liquid coagulant contains ferric sulfate and is designed for use as a flocculant in direct filtration applications.
